Bobby Joe Noles, 83, of Huntsville, AL made the transition to his next journey on October 1, 2021. He now joins his late wife, Julene, and his parents, Nettie and Buford Noles. Bobby was proud of his career. He served his country as an MP for the Army before working as a motorcycle policeman for the Huntsville PD. Following that service, he went on to have a long history with the City of Huntsville and US Government in traffic engineering. Even though he was in traffic, he always seemed to be ‘going to see a man about a horse’. He was most proud of his son, Jonathan. He was always an avid supporter of all that Jonathan was involved in. One of their favorite memories was a 4-day trip while Jon cycled the Natchez Trace. Bobby supporting along the way with enough supplies for a much longer trip – all of it meticulously organized in his trunk. He loved fixing things, collecting things, and organizing said things. Those close to him called him an urban archaeologist. Neighbors would see him riding around the neighborhood picking up discarded items to fix. Many of those things ended up at the Senior Center, where he was a proud volunteer. And he was never at a loss for an interesting story or a funny saying. He is survived, and will be missed immensely, by his son, Jonathan; his favorite (and only) daughter-in-law, Julie; his partner, Jane Elkins; and surrogate family, The Boyantans – Russ, Nanette, Blake and Chandler. His favorite saying and, now most fitting, mantra: “Everybody’s gotta be somewhere”.
