MONTGOMERY-Get ready to celebrate Alabama’s culinary quality when Restaurant Week kicks off on August 12. This culinary event unites Alabama’s diverse range of cuisine over a two-week period from August 12-29. During this time, restaurants statewide will offer patrons delectable dishes and mouth-watering experiences, while at the same time, patrons will get the opportunity to show their support for the places they love to eat.

Let’s face it, last year was hard on everyone, but now that things are on the upswing, we encourage everyone to show love for their favorite Alabama restaurants. Whether it’s Gulf Coast seafood you’re hungry for or slow-cooked ribs, the state’s restaurants offer something for everyone.

Can’t decide where to eat? Then, we recommend you try one of Alabama’s 100 Dishes. You can travel the state and experience world-famous cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

For breakfast, travel to Huntsville’s Cyn Shea’s Cafe for fresh blueberry pancakes, and then for lunch try Rosie’s Cantina inTrowbridge's - Visit Florence Florence, Alabama, for yummy, authentic Tex-Mex cuisine. Be sure to top it off with the pineapple-orange ice cream from Towbridge’s Ice Cream & Sandwich Shop located a few blocks away from Rosie’s in downtown Florence.

For dinner, we suggest you head to Birmingham to try Cafe Dupont’s Buttermilk Fried Chicken, and then if you have time, head to Peach Park in Clanton for their world-famous fried peach pies for dessert.

We recognize that it may be difficult to try all of these dishes in one day, so why not make it a trip that you won’t forget?

While in Montgomery, try the Buttermilk Pecan Waffles at Red Bluff Inn. Then head east to Auburn for the Moist Brisket and Hashbrown Casserole at Bow & Arrow. Don’t forget to quench your thirst with fresh-squeezed lemonade from Toomer’s Drugs. If you head South on I-65 to Mobile, stop off at Buster’s Restaurant in Atmore for a scrumptious Southern meal.

Home - LuLu's While visiting Mobile, you should try the Original Oyster House for fresh gulf seafood and for dessert Pollman Bakery’s Praline Dobash Cake hits the spot. For breakfast, there’s Bananas Foster French Toast at the Spot of Tea. For lunch, head over to Lulu’s in Gulf Shores for a Cheeseburger in Paradise and L.A. Caviar made with black-eyed peas.

You can top off your Alabama Restaurant Week experience dancing the night away at the Florabama in Orange Beach, home to the famous Bushwhacker!

Just remember, restaurants are the cornerstone of Alabama’s economy, and we hope you show your love and support by ordering take-out, dining in or buying restaurant merchandise during this year’s Alabama Restaurant Week celebration.
