Hector M. Irizarry (also known as Hector Sr.) of Madison, Alabama passed away Monday, May 10, 2021. He was 76 years old. Hector was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico but made Huntsville and Madison, Alabama his home since 1997.
Hector is preceded in death by his father, Manuel Irizarry, his mother, Teresa Vargas, his youngest brother, Tony Alvarez, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Hector is survived by his loving wife, Aimee, his sons (Hector Hamed and Manuel Alejandro), younger brother (Nestor), sister-in-law (Milagros), several nieces (Janice, Ginny and Margie) and five grandchildren (Lucas, Jordan, Keegan, Reanna, and Lola).
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air National Guard and as an electrical engineer for the U.S. Department of Defense. He was and always will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Hector liked to solve puzzles and all sorts of technical challenges. He loved to listen to classical music and sing along with gospel music, especially the Bill Gaither trio. He was quiet, peaceful, friendly, fun, loving, caring and best of all an excellent hugger.
