Danny Ray Hosch Danny Hosch , 72, of New Hope, passed away Friday. Danny served two tours in Vietnam in the 101st Airborne (Screaming Eagles). Following Vietnam, he joined Special Forces as a Green Beret. He served many years in the Army National Guard. Danny retired from Redstone Arsenal after 37 years as a civilian.

Mickey and Dan celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in October. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He had a tremendous sense of humor, as well as an exceptional sense of style. Danny was a gifted woodworker and single handedly built his shop out back, where he made furniture, such as a cradle, a toy chest, toddler beds, tables, benches and many other pieces. He loved working in his yard and kept it immaculate. Danny was also a voracious reader and enjoyed the classics, and was quite the story teller. He will be sorely missed by all who were privileged to know him. Danny was a Christian and we can rest assured that he is in the presence of our Lord, and rejoicing with his daughter, Joy.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Joy Ellice Hosch; son, Wesley Hosch; mother, Mary Hosch; father, Richard Hosch.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Mickey Hosch; sons, Ian (Tonga) Hosch, Thomas Hosch, and Jason Hosch; sister, Janie Peete; granddaughter, Juniper Ellice Malcolm; numerous sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home, Tuesday at 1:00 PM.
