Gloria Faye Underwood was born on December 8, 1952 in Billingsley (Autauga County) Alabama. She was born the six of ten children of the late Mr. & Mrs. George and Elouise Underwood. Ms. Underwood was baptized in 1968 and began her Christian service at Hopewell Baptist Church in Clanton, Alabama. The family relocated from Clanton, Alabama to Birmingham, Alabama in 1967 and she attended McArthur Elementary School. In 1973, she graduated from Phillips High School and shortly thereafter went to San Francisco, California to pursue her dreams. She later traveled the world her way. After multiple stops throughout the United States, she returned back to her home state of Alabama. Her final residence was in Huntsville, Alabama.

Gloria was one of the colorful members in our family. She was a woman consumed by wanderlust. Independent in nature by her thoughts and ideas.
