J. D. “Junior” Baker, age 84 of Hillsboro, passed away at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville following a brief illness. He worked for 58 years for Factory Furniture Company in Estill Springs as a delivery man and every Tuesday over 50 years for Coffee County Livestock Market in Manchester. He had served in the US Army and enjoyed watching westerns. Audie Murphy was his favorite. He liked everyone he met and had lots of friends, neighbors, cousins and loved ones who will miss him very much. Junior was preceded in death by his loving parents, J. D. Baker, Sr. and Cullie Irene Warren Baker of Hillsboro. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 59 years, Anita Sanders Baker; a brother, Kenneth Alton Baker and wife, Peggy of Estill Springs; five nieces; three nephews; four great-nieces; six great-nephews; and very special brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Judy Sanders of Pelham. Visitation will be 12-2 pm Friday at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 pm Friday, July 17, 2020 in Moore-Cortner Chapel with interment following at Providence Cemetery.
