Jeffrey James Gierloff, 73, of Langston, AL, passed away July 15, 2020. Jeff was born in Eau Claire, WI and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BS degree in Physics and graduated from University of Central Florida with a MS in Electrical Engineering with concentration in Optics.
Jeff retired from Lockheed Martin in 2002. Jeff had a passion for investing and was a volunteer for BetterInvesting, AL/Emerald Coast Chapter. He was a member of BI for 24 years and a volunteer for the Chapter for 20 years. His passion was to teach ordinary people to learn how to invest on their own. Jeff was also a volunteer for the South Sauty Volunteer Fire Department for over 10 years. He loved to paint pictures of various themes as a hobby. Jeff left us a lot of good lessons in life and made a difference in all the people he met. He was described by all as super smart, great sense of humor, personable and very interesting.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Barbara Zinzel; one son, Erik (Lori) Gierloff of Huntsville; two grandchildren, Ryan and Emily; his sister, Janice Eickhoff of Plymouth, MN.; and several nieces and nephews.
