Willie Gary Lane Palmer, of Scottsboro, AL, passed unexpectedly on Thursday, June 11, 2020, at his home at the age of 60.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Scottsboro Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Webb officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 am on Wednesday until time of service.
Gary is survived by his daughters, Crystal (Palmer) Coverson of Stockbridge, GA and Melissa Palmer of College Park, GA; ex-wife, Brenda (Potts) Palmer Riverdale, GA; sister, Donna Gorham; brothers, Jackson and Ray Shiflett; aunts, Ann Hancock and Louise Covington; and several nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by his stepfather, Donald and mother, Nora Shiflett and sister, Tammy Watson.
Gary was born on August 31, 1959 in Atlanta, GA to Willie and Nora (Covington) Palmer. Gary was a kind person who had a deep love for his children, family, and friends. He loved to be a comedian and make the people around him laugh and smile. He enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling, and sports. He was also a devoted Alabama Crimson Tide fan. He also enjoyed listening to music and playing with his two doves, Lulu and Buddy.
