Ms. Dora B. Coleman, age 97, passed away on Wednesday, April 29th, 2020 at Bibb Medical Center. A graveside service was held Saturday, May 2, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Marion, AL with Bro. Shannon Allen officiating.
Ms. Coleman was born December 27th, 1922 in Morgan Springs, Alabama to Dodderidge & Nannie Bamberg Hill. She was a lifelong resident of Perry County. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for over 40 years and retired from Vanity Fair Corporation in Demopolis, Alabama with 31 years. She was an avid gardener and loved to cook and share it with visitors.
She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Cain of Marion and Nancy Wagner (Andy) of Lafayette; three sons, Wilson Coleman of Marion, William Coleman of Ranburne and Ricky Coleman (Laura) of Lineville; two daughters-in-law, Ellie Coleman of Marion and Patricia Coleman of Anniston; three sisters, Eleanor Potts of Troy, Nadine Robinson and Shirley Wynn both of Bowden, GA; six brothers, Roy Glenn Hill, Adolph Hill, Travis Hill, Darrell Hill all of Carrollton, GA, Sammy Hill of Bowdon, GA and Jerry Hill of Moses Lake, WA: 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren; a large extended family and many friends.
Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Gordon Coleman; two sons, Thomas Coleman and David Coleman; son-in-law, Gary Cain; three sisters, Lois Coleman, Doris Kinard and Sybil McIntosh; two brothers, Garvis Hill and Bubba Hill.
A celebration of her life will be scheduled at a later date due to the current statewide restrictions.
