On Wednesday, April 1, 2020, Glenda Jo (Laxson) Robertson, loving wife and mother of five sons, passed away at the age of 75 at her home surrounded by family.
Glenda was born on October 15, 1944, in Iuka, MS to Kenneth and Mary Frances (Welch) Laxson. She married her high school sweetheart, James (Jimmy) Howard Robertson on October 11, 1961. They remained in Iuka and raised five sons, Warren, Kevin, David, Joel, and Jason.
Glenda was a trailblazer for all future “soccer moms” having chauffeured her five sons to their countless athletic activities. She became a fixture in the stands and her sons’ greatest cheerleader whether it was football, basketball, baseball, tennis, or ice skating. She was well known for opening her home to extended family and friends. Through the years, she enjoyed fishing, camping, bowling, cross-stitching, family game nights, road trips, and taking her children and grandchildren to Walt Disney World.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Mary Frances Laxson, brother Gene, sister Patsy, and granddaughter Sydney. She is survived by her husband James, sons Warren, Kevin, David, Joel, Jason, seven granddaughters, four grandsons, seven great granddaughters, and one great grandson.
Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka is entrusted with the arrangements. A private family graveside service will be held. Burial will be at Patrick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations can be made in the name of Glenda Robertson to Food Depot, PO Box 36, Iuka Ms. 38852.
