Funeral Services for Mr. Rickey Mitchell, age 55, of Lineville, will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with Rev. David Holcombe and Dr. George Beale officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Poplar Springs cemetery.
Mr. Mitchell passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at his home in Ashland. A lifelong resident of Clay County, Mr. Mitchell enjoyed working on Lawn Mowers and piddling on cars, even if there was nothing wrong with the cars. He was laid back, loved to aggravate his loved ones, and collected antiques and anything old. Mr. Mitchell attended Bowden Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Shirley Jean Mitchell of Ashland; one son, Darron Mitchell (Dana) of Wisconsin; his parents: James and Omie Jean Bunn of Ashland; two grandchildren: Kaden Mitchell and Elaina Winslet; his siblings: James Royce Bunn and Thressa D. Bunn, both of Ashland; and a large extended family.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: L.J. and Hazel Campbell.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Campbell, Frank “Peanut” Campbell, Randall Haynes, Phillip Campbell, Royce Bunn, Glenn Campbell, Thomas Baker, and Charles Baker.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville from 5:00-8:00 P.M and until service time on Sunday at 2:00 P.M.
