Nathaniel Van Harris, aged 91, passed away February 22, 2020 in Winchester, TN. A native of Giles County, he was the son of the late Katie and Nathan Harris. Mr. Harris was a machinist for most of his adult life in Nashville, TN and member of Cowan Baptist Church for the last 14 years. He always made himself available to family and friends who had needs he could help them with. He was innovative and creative in all he did. He will be much missed by family and those who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 56 years, Norma Jean Harris of Nashville; sisters, Francis Burns and Ruby Dean of Pulaski, TN; a brother, Jack Harris of Athens, TN; four grandchildren; and wife of 10 years, Betty Gifford Harris of Cowan. He is survived by son, Randall Harris of Nashville, TN; daughters, Beth Rivers of Cross Plains, TN, Suzanne Duncan of Smyrna, TN and Beverly Owens of Cowan, TN; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
