Joy Hegwood Pickett, 68, of Athens, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2020. Joy is survived by A.W. “Pete” Pickett, her beloved husband of 51 years; sisters, Constance Winning (Sal Aguda), and Stephanie Werdihoff (Bill); and brother, Jim Winning (Lauren); dear cousin, Diane Osman; nieces, Kimby Brett, Nan Miller, Mary Katherine Newman, Claire Aguda, and Grace Schulte; and nephew, Dr. Steven Werdihoff. Also surviving are her two furry companions Missy and Sissy.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at Wildwood Electronics, Inc. located at 29700 Indian Springs Road, Madison, Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Ark, Inc. (139 Bo Cole Road, Huntsville, AL, 35806) animal shelter, honoring Joy’s passion for her life-long love of her pets and compassion for any and all pets in need of rescue.
