Robbery On January 31 At Aldi In Florence Results In Arrest Of Two Suspects

FLORENCE-On Tuesday, February 18 the Florence Police Department issued a statement regarding a robbery that took place on Friday, January 31 at Aldi Supermarket on Cox Creek Parkway:

“On January 31, 2020, Jessie Cochran Young entered Aldi Supermarket on Cox Creek Pkwy in Florence, AL.  She placed multiple items in her shopping cart and exited the store without paying for them.  She loaded the items into a vehicle being driven by William Eric Pounders.  After being confronted by management about the theft, Pounders struck the store manager with his vehicle as he and Young fled the scene.  As a result of being struck by the vehicle, the store manager received medical treatment and was released.

As of February 13, 2020, both Pounders and Young have been arrested and charged with Robbery 2nd (Class B Felony). 

They are being held in the Lauderdale County Detention Center with a bond of $30,000 each.”
