Juidth Jeanette Hagood, age 74, of Empire passed away January 30, 2020. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harley and Willodean Rivers and her father, L.D. Hagood. Jeanette is survived by her son, Darrell (Michele) Capps; daughter, Cindy (Terral) Wallace; grandchildren, Ashley (Derik) Thomas, Heather (Tim) Phillips, Maranda Wallace, Gavin Wallace; great-grandchildren, Wiley Phillips, Bane Phillips, Madison Hill and Baby Phillips who is expected to arrive soon; sisters, Fredia Owens, Gail wingo and Shelia Maddox. Jeanette was a member of Sipsey Church of God. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her friends, Mary Wallace, Libby Wallace and Joan Butler. She was funny and easy to talk with. She was a Southern Bell who loved Gone With the Wind, listening to Elvis sing and collecting jewelry. She worked at Clark Embroidery, Goldkist and then retired from UAB where she worked as a secretary in the trauma and burn unit. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 4, 2020. The family will receive guests 2 hours prior to the service.
