Ovaline Wester Lenderman died January 19, 2020, at Shepherd’s Cove.
Visitation will be Monday, January 20, 2020 from 1 to 2. Funeral services will follow at Albertville Memorial Chapel at 2 p.m. with Jerri Manasco and Thom Scott officiating.
Burial will be in Rainbow Memorial Gardens, Gadsden, Alabama.
Mrs. Lenderman was born April 9, 1925 in Dekalb County, Alabama. She attended Kilpatrick and Crossville schools. She worked at Dwight Cotton Mill as an administrative assistant, and later worked at G.C. Murphy’s in sales.
For many years she was an active member of Crestview Church of Christ, North Broad Church of Christ, and Sansom Avenue Church of Christ. At times she was also the minister’s wife, serving with her husband Herman Lenderman as a missionary in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. They also did missionary work on other Caribbean islands, including Tobago, and also in Guyana, South America.
Prior to Shepherd’s Cove, she lived at Branchwater Village and Brown Street Estates.
She was preceded in death by her three husbands, Guy Leeth, Lowell Brown, and Herman Lenderman; parents, John and Addie Wester; siblings, Onus Wester, Edgar Wester, and Willadeen Gregg; and grandson, Royce Leeth.
Survivors include her sons, Kenneth Leeth (Joy), Opelika, Alabama and James Lowell Brown (Patricia), Macon, Georgia; grandson, Christopher Lowell Beal Brown, Richmond, Virginia; siblings, Dorothy Knight, Marie Bearden, Jerry Wester and Carolyn Duffy.
Special thanks to the doctors, nurses, staff, and management at Branchwater and Shepherd’s Cove for loving our mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, and sister as much as we loved her.
Flowers are accepted, but memorials may be made to Crestview Church of Christ.
