Memorial Services for Mr. Jimmy Neal Bowling, age 54 of Ashland, will be held on Monday, January 20, 2020 at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland at 1:00 P.M. with Ryan Robertson officiating.
Mr. Bowling passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at the VA Hospital in Birmingham. Born in Clay County, Jimmy moved to Hopewell, Virginia after joining the Army. After serving in the Army for 9 years, he moved back to Clay County where he worked as a computer technician and also worked at Wellborn Cabinets. Mr. Bowling was a simple man, who loved drag racing, hunting, and fishing. He loved his family, his daughters, his granddaughters, and was happy just sitting and watching tv. He was a graduate of Lineville High School, Class of 1983.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Bobbie Bowling of Ashland; three daughters: Pamela Chavez (Miguel) of Tuscaloosa, Hali Norris (Adam) of Gadsden, and Savannah Bowling of Ashland; three grandchildren: Dante Norris, Jacob Norris, and Elaina Chavez; two brothers: Michael “Mickey” Bowling (Wendy) of Ashland, and Alan Dale Bowling (Kristi) of Hernando, MS; plus numerous nieces, nephews plus extended family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Larry Mancel Bowling and Jennette Messer Bowling; and two sisters, Sharon Denise Bowling Denney and Meredith Lianne Bowling.
Jeff Buchanan, Miguel Chavez, and Mitchell Ellison will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 20, 2020 at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland from 12:00 P.M. until service time at 1:00 P.M.
