Limestone County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit: Safe Streets Project Arrest Two On Several Drug Charges

LIMESTONE COUNTY On Thursday, January 2 the Limestone County Sheriff’s Department issued  statement regarding the arrest of two suspects who have been charged with several drug related charges:

“On Wednesday, January 1 the Sheriff’s Office received a call concerning a male and a female passed out inside a car at the intersection of Shaw Rd. and Popular Point Rd.

Deputy Justin Fields was dispatched to the call along with Athens-

Limestone EMS. When Deputy Fields arrived, he observed Phillip Haggenmaker and Jessica Pylant near a vehicle that was parked in the ditch. Deputy Fields noticed that both suspects appeared to be under the influence of narcotics and began to investigate. Deputy Fields investigation lead to him locating over a ounce of methamphetamine on Phillip Haggenmaker along with some Xanax bars. Deputy Fields also located a small amount of methamphetamine on Jessica Plyant and a loaded pistol inside the car. In addition to the illegally possessed pistol and narcotics, Deputy Fields also located drug paraphernalia and cash.

Deputy Fields contacted the Narcotics Unit for assistance with the investigation and it was determined that Phillip Haggenmaker had a long history of narcotics related offenses and was a convicted felon. It was also determined that this was not the first time that Phillip was caught in possession of an illegal firearm. Phillip Haggenmaker has a prior arrest for possession of a sawed off shotgun.

Phillip Haggenmaker was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and felon in possession of a firearm (certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm)

Jessica Pylant was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia.”
