Pinna Carpenter Gattis, 85, of Huntsville, passed away Thursday at 9:54 a.m.

She graduated from IAHS in Fulton, MS and graduated from University of Southern MS. Then, she attended University of MS and late she
graduated from MS State University with her Master’s Degree.

Pinna taught school in MS, VA, and Huntsville.

She attended Epworth UMC where she did the memorials until her health failed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Ray Gattis; and parents, Vernon Carpenter and Veda Shumpert Carpenter.

Survivors include her grandson, Bobby Hanna; greatgrandchildren, Lucy Hanna and Laurel Hanna; cousins, Joel Shumpert, Noel Shumpert, Jay Shumpert, Corey Shumpert, Chad Shumpert, Pat McDonald Hall, Tommy Shumpert, Billie Ruth Shumpert, and RB Shumpert; nephew, Charles Gattis; and niece, Kathy Barnett.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 24th from 2:30 – 4:00 p.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home followed by service at 4:00 with Pastor Todd Noren-Hentz officiating. Graveside service will be Monday, November 25th at 12 noon at Wiygul Cemetery in Nettleton, MS.
