Lewis Karr, age 100 of Hamilton,AL, passed away on October 21, 2026 at his home.
Lewis was born on August 1, 1926 to Elton and Ruby Karr. He was married to Maudine Karr and had four children, Marilyn (Wayne) Warner, Lynn (Holly) Karr, Deb (David) Dickey, Cindy (Chuck) Smith. He had eleven grandchildren Chris Warner (Deana), Matthew Warner (Kathy), Amber Jarrett (Jason), Erin Evans (Mark), Miranda Yarbo (Beau), Rachel Primer (Andrew),Addie Hill (Brandon), Amanda Martin (Joel), Callie McNeill, Kalyn Thompson (Austin), Karrli Martin (Zach), twenty three great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
Lewis was a lifetime member of Kingsville Church of Christ in Detroit, AL.
He is survived by his four children, ten grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by wife Maudine Karr, sisters Ruby Cooper and Willie Lovelace and granddaughter, Callie McNeill.
The family wishes to express thanks to Carolyn Jones for the care she provided over the last several years, as well as, Sheila Boyce, the Byrd Volunteer Fire Department and the amazing staff at Enhabit Hospice Group. Special recognition is given granddaughter Rachel Brimer for being a constant source of love, comfort, and companionship to her “Best Buddy”.
