Johnny Wayne TaylorJohnny Wayne Taylor, 62 of Huntsville, originally from Rogersville, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2019. Mr. Taylor was a man of character, an exceptional provider for his family, and giver of unconditional love. He was a 1981 Auburn graduate, with degrees in mechanical engineering, math and physics. He was a subject matter expert at Redstone Arsenal and displayed a wonderful knack for solving problems from an early age. Mr. Taylor was equally adept at performing a frame off restoration of his dad’s 1953 Chevy truck, reviving furniture from years gone by, or preparing a Thanksgiving feast in the kitchen. He loved his family and friends and would help at a moment’s notice. He loved cheering on the Auburn Tigers.

He built trusting relationships in the workplace across military and contractor installations throughout this country. He touched and impacted lives through helping and serving others.

Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Nell Taylor. Survivors include his wife, Elayne Taylor; daughters, Megan Ladwig (Logan) and Meredith Taylor; grandson, AJ Ladwig; sister, Dian Etherington (Murray); brother, Jimmy Taylor; niece, Hannah Etherington; lifelong friend, Tim Ezell (Mimi); and many cousins and relatives.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Dana Workman officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Barnett, Andrew Barnett, Ben Barnett, Justin McKee, Ryan McKee, Jeff Davis, Richard Steen, and Keith Hefner. Honorary pallbearers are Phillip Roberts, Rob Rice, Mark Pickens, Lester Pearson, Logan Cardwell, Dirk Siron, Sam Natale, Mike Schrenk, Kevin Wade, Bernard Mostella, and Jeff Hanson.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
