Harry James “Jimmy” Mitchell 55, of Elkmont, AL passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville, Alabama.
Born Friday, October 18, 1963 in Columbus, MS, he was the son of Gordon Bunyon Mitchell and Elizabeth Janice Moore Mitchell.
He was a firefighter for the Air Force, served in Desert Storm, and a member of Ardmore Veterans Group and Cash Point Baptist Church. He loved his family, bowling, having new experiences, any sport that involved the grandkids, Alabama football, doing arts and crafts with Payton and spending time with Joshua.
He was preceded in death by his sister in law, Linda Mitchell.
He is survived by his parents; wife, Kathy Mitchell, Elkmont, AL; sons, Dustin (Britany) Barnett, Toney, AL and James Lawrence Mitchell, Columbus, MS; brothers, Ray Mitchell, Elkmont, AL, Wayne (Kathy) Mitchell, Ardmore, AL, Calvin Mitchell (April), Ardmore, AL; sister, Kathy Broadway (Jim), Minor Hill, TN; 2 grandchildren, Joshua and Payton.
A Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM.
A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, AL, at 3:00 PM with Rev. Derrick Moose officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
