Graveside services for Mrs. Mary Frances Fables West, age 92 of Ashland, will be held on Monday, August 26, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Clay County Memory Gardens with Rev. Josh Barkley officiating.
Mrs. West passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. A resident of Clay County most of her life, Mrs. West was a graduate of Mellow Valley High School class of 1946. She worked at Southland Manufacturing for 43 years. She was a former member of Wrights Chapel Methodist Church and had been attending Lystra Baptist Church for several years. Mrs. West loved her family and her chickens; she also enjoyed gardening, working in her flower beds, quilting, sewing and canning vegetables.
She is survived by her two daughters: Wanda Morris (Rodney) and Sandy Patterson (Bruce); her son, Rodney West all of Ashland; three sisters: LouNell Sprayberry of Lineville; Shirley Robertson and Sue Thompson both of Cragford; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents: John Walter Fables, Sr. and Eunice Mae Mabry; husband, Joe Frank West; two sisters: Flossie Hardeman and Doris Saffold; three brothers: John Walter Fables, Jr., Bobby Ray Fables and Terry Fables; and her daughter-in-law, Barbara Sue West.
Active Pallbearers will be: Cody Patterson, Jamie Patterson, Jason Patterson, Dale Shaddix, Kennan Hanner, Austin Hanner, Lee Johnson and Kevin Foster.
The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland on Monday, August 26, 2019 from 9:30 A.M. until 10:45 A.M.
