James “Robert” Allen, age 48, of Vernon, AL passed away Monday, August 19, 2019 due to an automobile accident. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 2:00pm from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Friendship South Cemetery. Bro. Carlos Dean and Bro. James Godsey to officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.

Robert was born on August 28, 1970 in Vernon, AL to James Howard Allen and the late Gaybe June Vails. He was a 1988 graduate of Lamar County High School. Robert worked several years as a truck driver and presently for Joel Collier Logging. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cutting and hauling firewood.
