Melvin Rogers, age 80 of Athens, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Rogers was born May 14, 1939 in Limestone County to Richard Rogers and Rena Siniard Rogers.
Funeral services for Mr. Rogers will be held Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. with Mark Johnson officiating. Visitation will be Monday, July 22, 2019 from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Alice Rogers; son, Nathan Rogers (Dianne); grandchildren, Kelsy Hagood (Mark) and Justin Rogers (Kimberly); 3 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Peggy Bellemare; brother, Billy Rogers (Carolyn); several nieces, nephews, cousins and other close friends.
Pallbearers will be Brian Rogers, Jason Braden, Mark Hagood, Larry Watson, Chad Stanford and Justen Flannagan. Honorary Pallbeares are Tom Pepper, Ethan Braden, Jace Braden, Dillon Ball and Brian Bellemare.
