Memorial service for Barbara Dale Johnson Perry, age 63, of Decatur, will be Friday, June 28, 2019, 7:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Jonathan Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to service.
Ms. Perry, who died Thursday, June 20, 2019, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born November 25, 1955, in Decatur, to David Theron Johnson and Margaret Sims Johnson Champion. She was preceded in death by her father, and her sister, Donna Johnson Whitlow. Ms. Perry worked as general manager for the Decatur VFW, and was very active in promoting veterans’ affairs and activities.
She is survived by her daughter, Jessica Perry (Ben) of Decatur; her mother, Margaret Champion of Decatur; one brother, David Johnson of Decatur; one sister, Debbie Landers (Bruce) of Decatur; sister-in-law, Renee Johnson of Lexington; two grandchildren, Ella Kate Dumas and Noah Dumas; and several nephews and nieces.
