G. B. Blaylock age 76 of Guin, AL passed away Thursday, June 13, 2019 at his residence.
Born November 22, 1942 in Lamar County, AL he is the son of the late James Robert and Mary Agnes Bowen Blaylock and the husband of Liz Smith Blaylock. He had lived in Guin most of his life. He became a Guin Policeman in 1990 and retired in 2015 having been Guin Police Chief for the last 10 years. He had served in the National Guard, was a former member of the Guin Rescue Squad, the Guin Masonic Lodge, a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, had served as Constable and was a member of the Guin First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his Wife of 54 years, Liz Blaylock of Guin, AL, A Daughter, Lisa (Scott) Colburn of Guin, AL, A Son, Bobby (Tammy) Blaylock of Winfield, AL, 4 Grandchildren, Kaitie, Emily, MaKaylee, and Sarah Beth, and a Brother, James (Jan) Blaylock of Frederick, Maryland, and several Nieces and Nephews.
He was also preceded in death by 2 Sisters, Nellie Mae Hawkins and Ruby Lee Williamson.
Services held Friday, June 14, 2019 at 12 Noon from the Norwood Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Guin City Cemetery. Bro. Kenny Hatcher officiating.
