Mrs. June Thompson, age 87, of Scottsboro, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2019.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Center Point Baptist Church with Rev. David Moorman and Rev. Roger Hobbs officiating. She will lie in state at the church on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Interment will follow at Center Point Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 8, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the church.
Mrs. Thompson is survived by daughters, Diana (Mike) Linville and Jane Thompson; sons, Larry Thompson, Randy (Denise) Thompson, Ray (Susan) Thompson; daughter in law, Janet (Billy) Carver; son in law, Lamar (Cindy) Clark; grandchildren, Michael Linville, Matthew (Erica) Linville, Drew (Candace) Thompson, Ryan (Meghan) Thompson, Carrie (Adam) Johnston, Kyle (Brooke) Thompson, Justin (Faith) Thompson, Laura Beth (Brett) Williams, Nathan (Katherine) Thompson, Layne (Kelli) Thompson, Will Thompson, Kolton Clark, Kolby Clark, Blake Zumbado, and Courtney (DJ) Knight; 27 great grandchildren; brothers, Ronnie (Marie) Pickles, Stanley (Elka) Pickles, Vivian (Ray) Gorelle, and Alice Rice.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Thompson; children, Ronnie Thompson, Michelle Thompson Clark, and infant son, Michael Frank Thompson; grandchildren, Ret Thompson and RaeAnn Linville; sister, Violet Pericott; and parents, Cyril Pickles and Annis Thomas.
The family would like to express their appreciation for her special caregiver and friend, Tammy Kasper and Heartlite Hospice, Gayle, Reginia, Roger, Joel, and Lennie.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Center Point Baptist Church’s building fund 2094 County Road 21 Scottsboro, AL 35768.
