Mrs. Alta Marguerite “Maggie” Pearson Scott was born on September 11, 1937 to Flora Juanita Dawn and Jack Paul Pearson in Monet, Missouri. Maggie passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2019 in Scottsboro, Alabama.
Maggie was a feisty and strong woman. She was a lover of the arts. She had a lovely singing voice and was a professional singer. Her skills on the piano were like no other and she could play any music set before her. She was immensely talented in crocheting and before anything else, sewing. She made custom fashions for entertainers as well as her family’s wardrobe. She was a skilled legal secretary. She was an avid reader. She always like to think she was the smartest person in the room. She had a green thumb and found her peace in nature. She was a dog-person and would happily share pictures and stories of her dogs with anyone who would listen. Her grandchildren were the lights of her life and her most valued times were spent with them.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Flora Dawn and Jack Pearson; son, Michael Scott; and grandson, Patrick Scott. She is survived by her son, Patrick Scott and his wife, Judy; daughter, Jacqueline Royal; daughter, Elizabeth Scott-Erpelding and her husband, Jim; two granddaughters, Lindsey Scott and Marianna Royal; nine grandsons, Matt Wehner, Brad Wehner, Brian Wehner, John Scott, Preston Scott, Payton Scott, Cullen Yeater, Miles Royal, and Mason Royal; and seven great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 19, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Scottsboro, Alabama with Dr. Jody Gamble officiating.
