Sue Presnal Houke, 91, of Huntsville, passed away Sunday. Sue was born in Roanoke, AL. She moved to Birmingham where she worked for IBM and met Bill Houke. They married and moved to San Diego while he served his country in the U.S. Navy. Sue and Bill moved to Huntsville where they raised their three children. Sue was an avid reader and loved Auburn football and Atlanta Braves baseball.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents, Howard & Hattie Presnal; and brother, Charles Presnal. Sue is survived by her daughter, Carol McCurry and husband, Michael of Madison; sons, Billy Houke and wife, Charlotte, of Nashville, TN and Robert Houke and wife, Lindsey, of Lacey’s Spring; grandchildren, Riley McCurry, Melanie Pond, Alan Houke, Lia Houke, Andrew Houke and Ella Houke; and great-grandchildren, Jubilee, Preston and Ward Pond.
A graveside service will be held at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke, Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
