Kenneth Brewster Sykes, 54, of Russellville, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Vanderbilt Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.

Kenneth was a mechanic in the International Association of Heat & Frost Insulator and Allied Worker Local Union #78 for 37 years. He was a firm believer in God, a hardworking man who loved his wife, kids, and the rest of his family very much. He was very involved in his children’s lives, from taking them hunting and fishing, being their little league coach, and to being the boat captain for their fishing tournaments. If he wasn’t at a ballfield, he was at a creek. He was a devoted Alabama fan, Roll Tide.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Wilson Sykes; mother, Willie Lou Britton Sykes; sister, Cassandra “Sandy” Conway.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 21 years, Donna Fay Garner Sykes; sons, Patrick Sykes, Holden Sykes, Seth Sykes, Brent Sykes; daughter, Victoria Sykes; brother, Derrik Sykes (wife, Liz), sister, Donna Kay Sykes; nieces and nephews, Jason Conway, Brandon Sykes, Kara Bishop, Rachel Smith, Brittany Sykes; great-nieces and nephews, Addie and Christian Smith, and Dayton Flanagin.
