Luther O’Neal Wellington, of Tuscumbia, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at the age of 61 with his family by his side. His visitation will be tonight from 6 to 9 at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Hollis Rutherford and Brother Doug Farris officiating. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
O’Neal was a longtime career truck driver for David Brown Trucking. He was a member of Bear Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sonny and Mary Wellington; brother, Mike Wellington; sister, Christine Wellington; and grandson, Brandon Aycock.
Survivors include his loving wife, Rita Wellington of Tuscumbia; children, Tonya Aycock (Jeff) of Killen and Misty Wellington of Tuscumbia; brothers, Buddy Wellington (Ida), Dennis Wellington (Deb) and Tim Wellington (MaryAnn); and grandchild, Brently Aycock.
Pallbearers will be Edward Wellington, Cody Wellington, Wesley Wellington, Michael Laster, Ricky Plunket and Wayne Thrasher.Honorary pallbearers will be Curtis Rouch, David Brown and Douglas Hand.
