George Douglas Walter “Red” Williams, 73, went home to be with the Lord at 8:25 a.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2019. He was born September 20, 1945, to Dennis Jay Williams and Mary Jane Ooten Williams McCollough. He worked for Penn Tire and was a long haul truck driver. A jack of all trades, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, helping out in the community, and taking care of his family and friends.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 13, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Shane Ray officiating. Burial will be in the Fulton Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Faye Jane Williams of Fulton and Brittni Holley (Chris) of Booneville; two sons, Dennis Jay Williams (Stephanie) of Belmont and Steven Wren of Alabama; three sisters, Joyce Putt of Saltillo, Jean Schaefer of Eupora, and Elsie Battin of Zion, Illinois; two brothers, Charlie McCullough of Verona and Butch Williams of Tupelo; his grandchildren, Ginger Williams (Shun Forshee), Marina Nails (Jamaal), Frankie Williams (Whitney), Tiffany Tubby (Corey), Zack Williams (Taylor), Tyler Williams, and DJ Russell; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Jane Williams; his son, Frankie Williams, Sr.; and his parents.
Pallbearers will be Frankie Williams, Jr., Jamaal Nails, Shun Forshee, Brandon Edwards, Zack Williams, and Demetrius Ashby.
Visitation will be from 3:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 12, at the funeral home.
