Multi-Course Wine Dinner to Feature Nationally-Recognized Chefs and Vintners

FLORENCE– Each year the promoters of Florence Wine Fest challenge themselves to offer original and captivating experiences to festival attendees. This year that effort is made manifest in the form of three new events featuring a constellation of culinary, wine, music, and fashion makers.

The first event added to the Friday evening schedule is “An Evening with Wine and Fashion Makers” at the Billy Reid flagship store in downtown Florence, Alabama.  Adam and Angie LaZarre of international wine competition-winning LaZarre Wines will join members of the creative team behind GQ and Vogue award-winning designer Billy Reid. “Guests will have the opportunity to soak up the creative magic of the Shoals when these famed makers match up to showcase the products of their artistic processes,” said Caleb Banks a festival founder.

Another new Friday night offering is an exclusive multi-course wine dinner featuring Jon-David Headrick of Jon-David Headrick Selections at the Stricklin Boutique Hotel in downtown Florence. Headrick, a highly acclaimed importer of artisanal French wines, will be paired with three superb chefs to present an unparalleled dining experience.  The guest chefs include Chef de Cuisine Randal Gresham of Easy Bistro and Bar in Chattanooga, Tennessee, 2018 James Beard Foundation Celebrity Chef Tour chef James Lewis of Bettola in Birmingham, Alabama, and James Beard Foundation-recognized Executive Chef Josh Quick of Odette in Florence, Alabama.

On Saturday morning, in advance of the Florence Wine Fest main event, organizers offer wine fans a chance to get up close and personal with Adam and Angie LaZarre, Jon-David Headrick, along with Jennie Mass of Martine’s Wines, while enjoying a light brunch prepared by Chef Josh Quick. The distinguished wine experts will be joined by Grammy Award-winning musician and locally-renown oenophile Ben Tanner of Single Lock Records and Alabama Shakes.  Moderator and wine writer Amy C. Collins will steer the panel’s conversation to reveal behind-the-scenes details about the creation, distribution, and enjoyment of fine wine.

“We are excited to offer 2019 Florence Wine Fest attendees more options to experience wine culture and offer them a bit more glamour than in the past.” Banks concludes. “Each year we say, ‘This is the biggest and best festival yet’ and each year we mean it. But, honestly, this year has shaped up to blow away our own high expectations and we can hardly wait for everyone to experience all that is in store for them. They’re going to love it!”

Florence Wine Fest 2019 will take place March 8-9, 2019. Additional information, full event schedule, and tickets are available at www.florencewinefest.com.
