Eva Mae Drummond Posey, age 97, of Jasper, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Lakewood Senior Living.
Mrs. Posey played the piano and organ at Northside Baptist Church for over 50 years. She was the daughter of J.P. Drummond, the first minister at Northside.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church, with funeral services following at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Walker Memory Gardens. David Byrd will officiate.
Mrs. Posey was preceded in death by her Father-James Perry “J.P.” Drummond; Mother-Martha Evelyn Rushing Drummond; First Husband-Vachel L. Posey, Sr.; Second Husband-Oscar E. Mitchell; Son-Phillip Steven Posey; all of her brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her Son-Vachel L. “Sonny” Posey, Jr. (Peggy); Brother-in-law-Ed Harbison; Grandchildren-Beth Chastain, Betsy Bechtold, Lee Posey and Jamie Posey; Great Grandchildren-John Posey, Sam Posey, Jake Bechtold, Clay Bechtold and Gabriel James Posey; Host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
