Hazel Lorene Yarbrough, 99, of Haleyville, entered into rest on January 13, 2019 at Haleyville Health Care Center surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Yarbrough was born on January 13, 1920, in Haleyville. Lorene was a member of Sunny Home Baptist Church for 70 years. She was employed by Haleyville Textile Mill and the Manasco Hospital. Lorene enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading, cooking and spending time with her family.
Visitation will be held today, January 15, 2019 from noon to 2 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Brother Greg Burcham and Reverend Mitch Nethery will officiate. Burial will follow in Winston Memorial Cemetery.
Lorene is survived by her sons, Wayne Yarbrough and his wife, Jo Ellen, Gregory Yarbrough and his wife, Sandy; daughters, Sarah Cochran, Iva Lee McNutt; brothers, Wilburn Ray Holdbrooks, Kennith (Margie) Holdbrooks, Joseph (Joan) Holdbrooks; sisters, Magdalene “Mag” Gurganus, Clara Earl, Rosa Nell Martin, Jeanette Lawson, and a host of nieces and nephews. She was “MawMaw” to 10 grandchildren, Karla (Greg) Burcham, Kirk (Karen) Cochran, Kristi (Jay) Raney, Benga (Jon) Quick, Jason (Brooke) Yarbrough, David McNutt, Brett McNutt, Leah (Dennis) Fuqua, Amy Berry, and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Grant Yarbrough; parents, Reverend D.H. and Leotha Holdbrooks; brother, J.B. Holdbrooks; sister, Gail Armstrong; sons-in-law, Eugene Cochran and Larry McNutt.
