Varie Montez Davis, of Tuscumbia, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018 at the age of 75. A memorial will be held at a later date at Cagle’s Funeral Home in Jasper, Georgia.
Varie was born in Detroit, Michigan, but lived most of her life in Jasper, Georgia. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cherokee.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Pauline Steakley Chastain; daughters, Vickie Lynn Hunt and Charlotte Gail Brunner.
She is survived by her son, Scott McDaniel; daughters, Janice Marlene Lee, Darlene Hyde, Merry Maxwell, and Elizabeth Edwards; brother, Jerry Robert Chastain; sisters, Edna Colleen Kowitz and Imogene Hughes; seventeen grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
