Rev. Byron Maurice Jones, Sr., age 71 of Cordova, passed away on Wednesday November 21, 2018. He was an Evangelist and longtime Pastor in the Church of God. He was a graduate of Lee University in Cleveland, TN.
Funeral services will be Sunday November 25, 2018 at 2:30 pm at Sumiton Church of God. Pastor Victor Massey and Bishop Toby Morgan will officiate. Burial will follow at McCormack Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday from 1:30-2:30 pm at the church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janette Jones; parents, Thea and Billie Jones and his brother, David Jones.
Survivors include his wife Leneda Jones; children, Angeline McMullin (Mike), Byron Jones, Jr. (Lacy), Bart Black (Faith), Elizabeth Baker (Jonathan), and Abigail Jones; grandchildren, Benjamin Baker, Samuel McMullin, Bartley Black, Tripp, Tally, Tristan and Tenley Jones and Elisa McMillin; brother, LaVoy Jones (Brenda); brother in law, Brian Sides; sister in law, Anna Smith (Steve); several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
