 R. D. Pearson of Selmer, TNR. D. Pearson was born April 10, 1934 in Enville, Tennessee, the son of the late Walter and Vassie Pearson. He was united in marriage to Angie Hendrix Pearson in 2002. He was a devoted Christian, Husband, Dad, and Poppa. He was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Bro. Harold King, Pastor. He departed this life on November 20, 2018 at his home in Selmer at the age of 84 years 7 months and 10 days.

R. D. proudly served our country in the United States Army before retiring after 20 years of services. He enjoyed gardening, and taking trips to the mountains or just a scenic drive but his favorite trip was to the beach. Music was at the top of his list of favorite things to do, especially during Bluegrass Nights at the Ryman or going to hear the Dawg Creek Band. The thing he loved most was spending time with his grandchildren, playing in the backyard or going to school activities. Being with them brought him the most joy.

He is survived by his wife, Angie Pearson of Selmer, children: Roger Pearson of NC, Mike Pearson and wife Sonya of NC, Danny Hurst and wife Debbie of Jackson, TN, Jeremy Hurst and wife Bridget of Selmer, TN; grandchildren: Roger, Christopher, Richard, Lura and Michael Pearson all of NC, Cannon, Brennan and Avery Hurst of Jackson, TN, Abigail and Hunter Hurst of Selmer, TN; a sister, Sue Whitten and husband Orville of Bethel Springs, TN.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Pearson was preceded in death by brothers, Truman and Ray Pearson; sisters: Velma Hart, Thelma Hanna, Nell Keen, Jewell McCombs; and an infant sister.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude.
