Benny McCullar – Obituary

Benny Frank McCullar Benny McCullar, age 89 of Cherokee, passed away on Thursday, November 1st, 2018. Visitation will be Saturday, November 3rd at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. The service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Jimmy Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Margerum Cemetery.

Benny was a native of Cherokee and a U.S. Navy Veteran who served in the Korean War. He was a retired Aluminum worker with Reynolds Aluminum and attended the Red Rock Church of Christ.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mae Mae McCullar; and his parents, Edward and Nancy Glen McCullar.

He is survived by his son, Dennon McCullar (Teresa); special friend, Sally Rutland and family; numerous nieces and nephews; and friends at JJ’s Restaurant.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Longmire, Sherman Hendrix, John Hayes, Scott Hayes, Darrel Rutland, and Ben Rutland. Honorary Pallbearers will be Johnny Hayes, Troy Hayes, and Roe Todd.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Southern Magnolia, Iuka and Kindred Hospice.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Margerum Cemetery.
