Willodean ByrdWillodean Byrd, 80 of Cherokee passed away Saturday, October 20, 2018. Visitation will be Monday, October 22, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 23, at First Baptist Church of Cherokee with Bro. Steve Slaton officiating. She will lie-in-state from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Mhoontown Cemetery.

Willodean was a native of Cherokee and a member of Cherokee First Baptist Church. She was a retired scrub tech at Helen Keller Hospital for 14 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Webster Byrd; parents Arthur and Minda Wallace; brother, Tommy Wallace; and sister, Dorothy Flynn.

Willodean is survived by her sons, Bradley Byrd and wife, Tabitha of Corinth, MS and Randy Byrd and wife, Tracey of Cherokee; 4 grandchildren, Christina Russell and husband, Jay of Iuka, MS, Tiffany Byrd of Iuka, MS, Benjamin Byrd and wife, Katie of Leighton, and McKenzie Byrd of Cherokee; and 6 great-grandchildren, Ethan, Evan, and Alivia Russell, Gavin and Ramsey Byrd, and Annaleigh Byrd.

Pallbearers will be Jay and Matthew Russell, Alan Mobley, Marlin Roden, Brian Watkins, and Kodi, Tanner, and Zeke Seal.
