It is with great sadness that the family of Betty Jo New Shaw announces her passing. Betty was born September 14, 1934 and died on July 21, 2018 at the age of 83.
She is survived by her children; Debra Shaw Summer, Donald Lee Shaw, and Robert William Shaw; grandchildren; Derek Summer, Stephanie Summer Perez, Ryan Shaw, Brandon Shaw, and Nicholas Shaw; great-grandchildren; Easton Summer, Carson, and Addison Shaw.
Betty was a Christian and attended Lakewood Methodist Church for more than 50 years. She was married to Bobby Lee Shaw for 52 years until his death in 2005. Betty remained a widow and served faithfully in her church, community, and adamantly cared for her family.
Betty had a talent for sewing and enjoyed creating personalized items for family and friends throughout her lifetime.
Visitation will be Friday, July 27th from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home; followed by A Celebration of Betty’s Life at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Huntsville Memory Gardens.
