Mary Ellen Capps, age 77 or Gardendale, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at St. Vincent’s Hospital. She was an avid Alabama fan.
Funeral service will be Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Rev. Eddie Nicholson and Elizabeth Black will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Joy Baptist Cemetery in Jasper. Visitation will begin at 12:30 pm Thursday until service time in the chapel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Capps; son, Brian Kieth Capps; father, Thurston Taylor; mother, Mary Taylor; and five siblings.
She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Capps Sheets (Craig); grandchild, Brittany Capps; several other family members, friends and special pet, Stella.
