Stephen Layne Clark passed away Monday, January 22nd, 2018, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi. He was born in Pulaski, TN on October 18, 1950 and was 67 years old.

He was born and raised in Pulaski. He graduated from MTSU with a biology degree and still could tell you the scientific names of the trees and animals. He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, and observer of wildlife. He loved music of all types, especially bluegrass. In his childhood he was a Boy Scout who moved all the way up to earn his Eagle Scout with his father as his leader. As a teenager he had a lifetime opportunity to represent his area at the 12th annual World Scout Jamboree in Idaho. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the First United Methodist Church, served in the National Guard, and was retired from TVA.

Visitation will be 4 o’clock until 7 o’clock Wednesday, January 24th, 2018, at Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home
The memorial service will be 5:00pm Thursday, January 25th, 2018, in the chapel of Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home with Eddie Woodard officiating and full military honors following.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Willis and Elizabeth Roper Clark, and two very special friends, Taddy Marks and David Rhea.

Daughter, Emily (Chris) Kirkpatrick of Pulaski
Stepdaughters, Leslie and Allison McCharen of Tupelo, MS
Mother-In-law, Bobbie Stewart of Tupelo, MS
Sister-in-law, Nancy Beard of Tupelo, MS
Nephew, Lee Beard of Tupelo, MS
Many special friends, especially members of his Eagle Scout group also survive.

Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Stephen Layne Clark.
