Frances Byrd James of Tuscumbia passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the age of 86. Her visitation will be Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Kirk Bishop officiating. She will be buried in Franklin Memory Gardens.
Frances was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church and a native of Colbert County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cordy Bruce James; parents, William and Effie Byrd; daughter, Dianne James Hale; and grandson, Brandon James Hale.
She is survived by her sons, Jerry R. James, Ronald B. James (Vickie) and Thomas G. James (Elydia); sisters, Elizabeth Pennington and Dorothy Johnson (J.C.); 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
