William Chester Copeland
October 13, 1922 – January 18, 2018
Son of Levi Jackson Copeland and Mary Ida Kidd
His visitation will be Monday, January 22, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The memorial service will follow in the funeral home chapel.
He married the love of his life, Georgia Louise Glass, at the end of WWII in 1945. Served as a Cook in the Navy, and was stationed in the Aleutian Islands for the majority of the war. After settling in Bakersfield, CA worked and retired from Kern County Municipality. William was a lifetime member of the DAV.
He is preceded in death by his wife Georgia Louise Copeland, son Harold Copeland, daughter Charlotte Copeland, brothers Carl, Ben, and Ari, and sisters Letha, Lethres, and Ruby, and grandchildren Anthony and Christy.
He is survived by sons Tony Copeland & wife Nancy; Jerome Copeland & wife Sharon; Jason Copeland & wife Krystal; daughter Shari Mitchell & husband Emmett. Grandchildren Teri Copeland & Sara Czajkowski, Lisa Copeland-Bittmer. Great-grandchildren Cory, Sharlett, Justin, Tanner, Kaitlyn, Kourtney, Jade, Jaylee, Ryan, Marcus, Thomas, Samuel, Katelyn, Samantha, and Caleb. Great-great-grandchildren Landen, Austin, Dawson, and Houston. As well as his beloved Nieces, Nephews, and Friends.
