Sidney Price “Butch” Brazil , 66, died Thursday, December 7, 2017 at ECM Hospital. He was born in Ohio. He worked as an Assistant Unit Operator for TVA for more than 30 years. He loved his family and loved to hunt and fish and to be around his grandchildren. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of Red Bay Freewill Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 12, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Red Bay Freewill Baptist Church, Red Bay. Services will be Wednesday, December 13, 2 p.m. at Red Bay Freewill Baptist Church, Red Bay, with Brother Steve Lindsay, Brother Matthew Fancher, and Brother David Corum officiating. Burial will be in Red Bay City Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are his wife of 41 years, Jane Brazil; three sons, Christopher Brazil (Keitha), Brandon Brazil (Amanda), and Matthew Brazil (Kim); 10 grandchildren, Brett McDowell, Jenny Ann McDowell, Chyenne Ashley, Hailey McDowell, Skylar Brazil, Bryson Brazil, Mason Brazil, Trae Brazil, Dawson Fralix, and Hayden Wiggington; two great-granddaughters, Phinley McDowell and Chyley Watson; a very special friend that was like a brother, Billy Joe Bolton; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Sidney and Annie Brazil; three brothers, Wylie Edward Brazil, Wylie Price Brazil, and Louis Brazil; and in-laws, Golden and Jean Hammock.
Pallbearers will be Billy Joe Bolton, Brad Ivy, Jeff Strickland, Rodney Strickland, Greg Strickland, and Jason Vinson.
