THE SHOALS-The Shoals Environmental Alliance is holding their monthly meeting today, November 28 at the Florence-Lauderdale Public Library. The meeting starts at 5:30PM until 7:00PM.
David Whiteside, Executive Director, Tennessee Riverkeeper (TNRK) will talk about the major sources of pollution in the Tennessee River. TNRK recently analyzed data self-reported to EPA by industry. In 2015, industries dumped almost 10,000,000 lbs. of toxins into Alabama’s waterways. Pollutants dumped in the Tennessee River included 50,000 lbs. of carcinogens.
