Athalene R Duke, 90, of Hartselle, passed away Monday, Oct. 16, 2017. She was born Nov. 26, 1926.
Everyone loved her smile. She worked at Priceville High School in the lunchroom and she loved all the children there. Mrs. Duke was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Duke was preceded in death by her first husband, Leland McConnell; her second husband, Joseph W. Duke; three brothers, John Russell, Lelton Russell and Houston Russell; and two sisters, Pearlene Fuller and Eula Halbrooks.
Survivors include her son, Danny McConnell; daughter, Linda Juanita Holaway; son-in-law, Roger Holaway; granddaughter, Tammy Borden (Jerome); great-granddaughter, LeAnn Patterson; great-great-granddaughter, Khloe Patterson; brother, Roy Russell; sister, Mary Lou Steele; and sister-in-law, Kay Russell.
A Celebration of Life will be Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with Reverend Tommy Smothers officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
