Sara C. Stubblefield – Obituary

Sara C. Stubblefield, 81, of Huntsville, passed away Sunday at the Regency Health Care facility.  Sara was born in Cadiz, KY in 1936. She and her family moved from Paducah, KY and lived in Huntsville for 40 years.               She was a generous mother and homemaker who took care of two sons with Muscular Dystrophy, her husband, and two daughters. She was a member of First Christian Church on Drake Ave. in Huntsville and sang in the church choir for 30 years. She was also a member of the Willowbrook Garden Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Billy Joe, her parents, Leon and Avis Clark, her brother, Ray Clark, and sons, Craig Stubblefield and Allen Stubblefield.  Survivors include daughters, Vicki Steelman of Hazel Green, and Luci Stubblefield-Sweeney and husband, Michael, of Huntsville; sisters, Martha Manoso of Virginia Beach, VA, and Lu Thomas and husband, Carroll of Cadiz, KY; brothers, William Clark and wife, Dee, of Lansdale PA, Charles Clark and wife, Donna, of Stockertown, PA, and Wayne Clark and wife, Sue, of Hopkinsville, KY; aunt, Deane Damron of Mesa, AZ; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church with the Rev. Paul Allen officiating.  Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hicks Cemetery in Murray, KY.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, American Heart Association, or First Christian Church.
